Gina Ross’ Crochet Hot Water Bottle Cover using the African Flower Hexagon
To fit a standard hot water bottle
- DK Yarn scaps in co-ordinating colours – I have used wool, brushed mohair, bamboo and cotton. Choose a yarn which you have at least 50g of that will be your ‘main’ colour to join all the hexagons with and do the edgings. (I used a plied, 100% Merino yarn.)
(from this store, you can use Adele’s Mohair Medium Brushed Mohair, Nurturing Fibres SuperTwist DK , Vinni’s Nikkim [cotton] or Serina [bamboo])
- 3-5 mm (C-H/8) crochet hook (size to obtain the right size shapes for your hot water bottle)
- 50cm (20”) of satin ribbon – 10mm (0.4”) wide
- 1 x hot water bottle!
