A modern makeover of the classic tea cosy, this quick knit makes a perfect gift. The two-tone body is capped with a posy of bold flowers that take full advantage of the firm hold that you get from 100% natural wool. The pattern offers some challenges for intermediate level knitters: colour weaving and a ruche technique to create thickness in the body, short rows and grafting for a seamless circumference of the flower petals.

    Buy the pattern & use your own yarn choice (we recommend Adele’s Pure Wool DK. As an alternative, you can use Nurturing Fibres SuperTwist DK)

Adéle’s Pure Wool (DK) available from www.naturalyarns.co.za in kits

  • 12g Base Avocado
  • 25g BC Lemon
  • 50g FC Lichen
  • 12g Stamen Aubergine
  • 25g Inner petal Heather
  • 50g Outer petal Tomato

Quantities are given above in case you want to make up your own colourway.
Lengths of scrap yarn in a similar thickness and colours that contrast with the petals.

NEEDLES: 4mm circular needle 80-100mm long. 4mm straight needles.
GUAGE: 21 sts and 30 rows form a 10x10cm stocking stitch square
